Based in Newburyport, Massachusetts, Hawtan Leathers has been a manufacturer and distributor of fine leather for over 70 years. We offer a variety of products including goatskins, cowhides, and deerskins, with an assortment of colors and textures to meet unique customer needs. Hawtan operates one of the largest tanneries in the Caribbean under the name Cuirs Hawtan, S.A.

Haiti Disaster Relief & News

Hawtan Leathers has been doing business in Haiti for over 30 years under the name Cuirs Hawtan. We have one of the largest factories outside of Port Au Prince. We employ over 100 workers at our tannery and support 100 suppliers with our own established collection system for hides throughout the country. Our employees and collectors homes and families were destroyed in the January 12 earthquake. We have been doing all we can to help them by providing fresh water and food and a place to sleep on a daily basis within our factory walls but this is not enough. We need to provide further assistance to rebuild their homes, bury their dead, feed and clothe their families and care for their children until schools are rebuilt. It is a daunting task and we cannot do it alone. Our workers are incredibly resilient and passionate and continue to come to work every day, leaving their suffering families behind in order to provide for them the only way they know how. Please help me directly provide the necessary resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives by donating to Cuirs Hawtan Haiti Relief Fund.
